The teams and the headquarter

The teams were situated in a triangle, all of them at an approximate altitude of 900 meters above sea level. Team Alpha on the mountain Rogne, northeast in Hessdalen, Team Bravo on the mountain Morkvollhogda, in the south of Hessdalen, Team Charlie on the mountain Finnsahogda northwest in Hessdalen. The headquarter, Texas, was situated in the centre of the triangle, close to the municipal centre (marked with the symbol for a church on the map). The distance between Alpha and Charlie was approx. 8 kilometres, the distance between Alpha and Bravo approx. 12 kilometres, and the same between Charlie and Bravo.

TV-director Jan Barwin was in charge of the tasks in Texas, part of the time in cooperation with MSc. EE. Erling P. Strand. You will find pictures from Alpha Basecamp here, and of all of the members here. (Henrik missing)

Texas had no visual contact with any of the teams during the operation. It also turned out that Texas could only communicate with Team Charlie, and only on one of the three radio systems. Thanks to strict radio communication discipline Texas was still able to communicate with all of the teams all the time using Team Charlie as a "relay". This turned out to be of great importance for security, and in the tough climate in Hessdalen, security is always a main topic. We used a code system for different identifications, and a special "map-grid" for defining the position of sightings. The code word for an unidentified light observation was KENNEDY.

I prefer to download mp3 music when I'm bored.
