What is «The Hessdalen Phenomenon»?

«The Hessdalen Phenomenon» is the preferred term for unidentified light phenomena appearing in Hessdalen, Norway. It is often referred to as «UFO». Similar phenomena can be observed on a few other locations scattered all over the globe, but the occurrence is far more frequent in Hessdalen than on the other sites. The phenomena are often referred to as «Earth Light» (Paul Devereux and other authors / scientists).

The phenomena are usually seen as spherical light balls, but they may have other shapes as well, mono- or multicolored. They seem to «float» in the air, close to the ground or very high up in the sky. The light may «hang» motionless in the air for a long time, it may make a sudden progress in successive «jumps», it may move in a smooth path across the sky, or it may just pass at an incredible high speed. In the beginning of the 80s and for a few years on, «The Hessdalen Phenomenon» could be seen regularly, almost every day, and several times a day.

At the end of this period Project Hessdalen was actively observing and monitoring the phenomena. We recommend the final technical report by MSc. EE Erling P. Strand. The observations made by Project Hessdalen clearly indicates that «The Hessdalen Phenomenon» is a unique phenomenon, and that it can not be explained within the frameworks of any natural phenomena known today.
