Subject: Second message! <g>

Just got back from the MUCK after adding a room and some actions to the
Domain area. (I think I forgot to make the exit visible, but it's SW from
the square if anyone wants to check it out.) Anyway...

'Twas the night before 15-Sep-98, and all through the net, not a creature
was stirring, except for Myrla, who whispered ominously:

>Hopefully, everyone will join this list. It will definately make things
>easier in getting news to everyone. I have noticed in the past that
>bulletins and opening messages aren't always noticed. And not everyone
>reads the bulletin boards. I hardly ever did in the past myself.

Just a thought, on some MUCKs I have explored they hae a program that tells
you when you logon that there are X new messages you haven't read yet. Of
course some people just don't bother to read the opening messages anyway...

>As far as relocating areas, thats what I've provided the park
>development for. I've got lots of room for everyone to build homes,
>offices and businesses. And I can expand as needed :)

Gee, I didn't know you were a balloon fur? <g>

>I love the new identities for the guests. This is something I've been
>thinking about doing for some time. And I love skunks. :) One thing
>though.. I've been told that some guests objected to being stuck with a
>female guestfur. Something I've seen done often is having guests that
>are neuter - no gender at all.

Aaaaaaw, but they're sooooo cute! Neuter them? Might as well descent them
too! <g> Seriously though... In the brief period when they were undescribed
I made a remark about this to Gyroplast, and he said "They are guests! If
they want descs they can get a char." To paraphrase that, they are guests!
If they want to be male they can geta char... ;) Then again:

>If it is al all possible, though. I'd
>like to vary the descs on the guests. I'm not sure how that would be
>done though. The guest program seems to replicate settings each time it
>makes a new guest.

We could perhaps geta TRaM device that works on guests. They've got one on
TF&F... could be interesting to see how often it gets used!

BTW, there could be "worse" thing than being "stuck" as a skunkette. Don't
know if anyone read the message "All desced up and nowhere to MUCK" on the
park board (same message can be found on Furry and TF&F), but I've got some
ideas for the starting area of the next new MUCK I get involved in (if I
ever do). The idea is to make the area a farmyard (with newcomers crawling
out from under the barn), and to go with that I have an idea to make at least
one of the guests a heifer.... :P

>Speaking of carry, many furs dont seem to realize you can change the
>mode of carry.
[snip]
>three different modes: hand, walk or the defualt,
>carry. I prefer hand myself

Me too. Furry has a fourth mode called fly, which I experimented with
recently, but I went back to hand as my character isn't a flyer! <g>
It's also possible to set costum messages (at let on Furry) for really
special characters. ("The mouse offers to sit in your breast pocket and
point your way around.")

Right now, however, I'm going to point myself at the next letter...

We'll be right back after these messages.
